What is a DC disconnect switch?
DC isolation switch, as the name suggests, is a switch that isolates DC. It is mostly used in photovoltaic power station systems to cut off the arc generated by direct current, avoid dangerous accidents and ensure safe operation.
Principle: How does the DC disconnect switch protect the safety of photovoltaic power plants?
(1) When installing the photovoltaic system, if the installer does not cut off the input of the solar panel and the inverter first, the DC power will be connected to the DC side of the inverter when wiring and plugging and unplugging the DC terminal, which will cause personal electric shock and reverse rotation. Damage to the inverter and back-end equipment;
(2) In a photovoltaic power station, the inverter is the "core center". In order to ensure sufficient power generation time, the inverter does not have a start and stop button. As long as there is light (even in rainy weather), the solar panel can generate electricity. The inverter will work automatically. However, this also brings a problem, when the inverter is replaced or repaired, even though the AC side has been disconnected by the installed AC circuit breaker, the DC side is always powered. In this case, if the inverter cannot isolate the DC power from the battery panel, it is easy to cause electric shock and damage to the equipment;
(3) At present, most of the inverters on the market do not have electrical isolation inside, and there is a possibility of backflow from the AC side to the DC side. If the DC power cannot be physically isolated during maintenance, there will be a danger of electric shock.
